IMPERIAL PALACE ANNECY AWARDED FOR ITS GREEN COMMITMENT
Being located on the shore of the purest lake in Europe and at the foot of the French Alps, the Imperial Palace Annecy (Hotel****, 3 Restaurants, Spa, Casino and Congress Centre) has been involved in sustainable development for a very long time.
In such an exceptional setting, environmental awareness had to be our motto!
OUR COMMITMENT TO THE PLANET
In terms of sustainable development, our employees as well as our customers are indeed associated with ecological issues. In addition, the recent renovation work launched by our owner, PVG Group, did strengthen all actions and habits that had been taken so far.
Therefore when the Ministry of Environment and Energy announced the deployment of a new environmental label specially designed for hotels, the Imperial Palace wished to be registered amongst the pioneers of the Haute-Savoie district.
ENVIRONMENTAL LABEL
After a full auditing, the Imperial Palace Annecy was awarded and received its first environmental certificate, which rewards a real commitment to the planet. The overall project is running over a 3-year period. The data will be updated each year to take into account any improvements relating to the policy implemented.
Among the actions already in place, we can note the selective waste sorting; besides the usual recycling of paper, plastics, etc ..., the company is also equipped with a compactor for cartons, crates and plastic films. In addition, we also have a computer-centralized technical management that allows the regulating of energy needs of the whole building.
The bedrooms are equipped with a key card box as a general switch; so the lighting only works when the card has been slid in; the air conditioning / heating stops instantly if the window is opened; faucets in washbasins, bath tubes and showers are equipped with flow limiters. The establishment is equipped with presence detectors, low-voltage bulbs, LEDs. Household products are environmentally friendly; Eco-pumps have been installed in the walk-in showers of the bathrooms...
Our guests are invited to participate to these issues; towels are changed only if they wish, the rotation of the bed linen every 2 days also works on the same principle. To reduce the carbon footprint, the Chef uses seasonal products as well as many organic ones and most of them come from our area.
The recovering of bio-waste in force at the staff restaurant will soon be extended to all restaurants of the establishment.
Other actions will be added to the environmental policy and the next step will be to obtain an international label!
