On July 1st 2021, the Group PVG will expand its family of tourist establishments with the opening of a brand new, contemporary hotel at the entrance to the old town with a breathtaking view of Lake Annecy (Haute-Savoie)... Le Pélican!
Between modernity and history
Built in the heart of the former Annecy hospital and with a total surface area of 4,800 m², this new 4-star hotel is composed of two architecturally distinct parts: "Le Cèdre" (a building dating from 1820 and listed as a historical monument that housed the hospices, which has been completely renovated) and "La Scène" (an extension of a new wing that adds a modern touch while blending in perfectly with the outside architecture).
The name "Le Pélican" comes from the fact that the seabird was present on the façade of the renovated building.
Le Pélican hotel
The hotel**** is composed of 101 rooms and suites divided into 5 categories and decorated by Hervé Lefillatre with a sensorial immersion in all the spaces.
On the top floor of the old building, among other suites, the Experience Suite offers an unusual interlude with its igloo-shaped bed including a 360° projector for an unusual cocooning sound and light experience.
To enhance your stay in this little corner of paradise in the French Alps, the charming hotel, close to the town, has an outdoor swimming pool near the 25-metre high Lebanese cedar for moments of peace and quiet, a panoramic terrace with a view of Lake Annecy and the surrounding mountains and 2 seminar rooms.
Its "Ô Bon Bec" restaurant will be run by the former Executive Chef of the Imperial Palace, Sylvain Fombertasse. This chic bistro with its welcoming lounge areas offers a full range of culinary services: tapas, "A la carte" menu, oyster bar, charcuterie cellars, cheeses, wines... with a special focus on local produce.

A hotel with environmental values
Located in the Trésums eco-district, which was designed more than 10 years ago by the architect Christian de Portzamparc, the carbon footprint of the Le Pélican hotel is very low, with local and renewable energy. Indeed, the entire district is connected to a thermal loop at a depth of 12 metres in Lake Annecy, which allows water to be drawn from it to heat or cool the surrounding buildings and the hotel, depending on their needs and seasonality.
Le Pélican also joins the 1% for the planet programme, an international collective working for a healthier planet. This action means that 1% of the turnover of the hotel will be donated to environmental protection associations.
Other innovations will be announced as soon as the official opening of this new hotel in Annecy, between the lake and the mountains...
We look forward to seeing you there!
