On Saturday, August 1, 2026, the Annecy Lake Festival will once again light up the Baie d’Albigny for a new edition celebrating music and emotion. A highlight of the Annecy summer, this spectacular event transforms the lake each year into a vast open-air theatre.
Descended from the great Venetian festivities held in 1860 in honour of Napoleon III and Empress Eugénie, the Fête du Lac has stood the test of time to become one of Europe’s largest fireworks displays. More than 200,000 spectators are expected around the lake to experience this exceptional evening.
For the 2026 edition, the City of Annecy has once again placed its trust in Arteventia, the company behind the 2025 show. The French company presents a brand-new creation entitled “L’Âme du Monde”, in which music becomes the guiding thread of a poetic journey through time and emotions.
Over 70 minutes, audiences will discover an immersive show divided into seven acts, combining classical works, film soundtracks, orchestral compositions and popular songs. Lights, water jets and fireworks will bring each scene to life, accompanied by unique floating installations: the Grande Dame, a female figure symbolising the voice of music, as well as aquatic and pyrotechnic bicycles that will animate the surface of the lake. Pyrotechnic drones will also create a spectacular aerial ballet above the water.
The narration will be brought to life by the distinctive voice of Maïk Darah, an actress and iconic French voice artist, who will accompany audiences throughout this immersive sensory experience.
