Every year, Annecy becomes the world capital of animated film. From June 21 to 27, 2026, the Annecy International Animation Film Festival will celebrate its 50th edition, a milestone anniversary for an event that has become an essential reference for professionals and animation enthusiasts from around the globe.
For one week, the city comes alive with screenings, premieres, exhibitions, meetings with creators and industry events, making Annecy one of the most important cultural gatherings of the year... with animation taking centre stage!
MIFA 2026
From June 23 to 26, 2026, MIFA Annecy 2026 (International Animation Film Market) will take place at the Impérial Congress Centre Grand Annecy.
A true global hub for the animation industry, MIFA brings together producers, studios, broadcasters, distributors, schools and creators from around the world to present their projects, develop new partnerships and shape the productions of tomorrow.
Over these four days, thousands of industry professionals gather in Annecy to attend conferences, business meetings, project presentations and exhibition spaces. Today, MIFA is recognized as one of the most important events worldwide for the animation industry.
An Animation-Inspired Atmosphere at the Impérial Palace
Located just a short walk from the Impérial Congress Centre Grand Annecy, the Impérial Palace welcomes numerous participants, partners and guests of Annecy Animation Festival 2026 throughout the week. The hotel's spaces become privileged meeting places where professionals from all over the world gather to exchange ideas, share their passion for animation and imagine the projects of tomorrow.

Catering during MIFA
To ensure the best possible experience for MIFA participants, La Table and Le Salon will offer a dedicated dining service from June 23 to 26, 2026, exclusively reserved for guests holding a valid MIFA accreditation. Normal operations will resume from dinner service on Friday, June 26, 2026.
Le Riva restaurant, located within the Casino Impérial Annecy, offers a dedicated lunch menu, while the regular menu remains available for dinner.

A Special Anniversary Edition
To celebrate its 50th anniversary, the Annecy International Animation Film Festival showcases the diversity and richness of global animation through an ambitious international programme. The 2026 edition also marks an important milestone with the opening of the International Animation Film City, a new venue dedicated to preserving, promoting and passing on an art form that has contributed to Annecy's reputation for decades.
The official poster, created by Canadian artist Randall Finnerty, perfectly captures the spirit of this anniversary edition by celebrating the meeting of cultures, audiences and creators united by a shared passion: animated cinema.
