The Venetian Carnival in Annecy, France, is a magical experience for all ages...
This year, the 27th edition takes place from 23 to 25 February!
The Annecy Venetian Carnival
This annual event is a must in Annecy's calendar to herald the arrival of spring. Created in 1996 by the ARIA association (Association Rencontres Italie Annecy), it is one of the oldest and most popular.
For 3 days, set against the enchanting backdrop of the beauty of the Alps, the crystal-clear waters of Lake Annecy and the unconditional charm of the narrow streets of Annecy's Old Town and its canals, the colourful Venetian carnival delights visitors.
You're sure to feel a sense of wonder and delight as you admire the magnificent, colourful parades that wander through the town nicknamed the "Little Venice of the Alps". From meticulously-crafted costumes and traditional masks to modern interpretations, this is one of the most emblematic aspects of the event... a true work of art in itself... just like the traditional Venice Carnival!
Venitian Carnival Program
- Friday evening stroll through the heart of the Old Town at 6 pm and evening festivities until 8 pm
- On Saturday and Sunday, free roaming in the town and along the lake, with a podium at 2 pm in the "Jardins de l'Europe".
In the event of rain, the programme may be cancelled or modified.
